University Projects

All of these projects were completed in one of my core units. All of these were group projects, working in a team of 4 or 5. 

These mock-ups were created by the groups allocated designer, which I never was, for all of my projects I was a creative lead.

"Produce a Print Ad from a Creative Brief"

This Project required a group of four to create a print advertisement for the brand Aeroplane jelly, based on a creative brief provided.

Big Idea Statement:

Bonding generations through tradition

​

Our big idea we chose was “Bonding generations through tradition”, although we thought this idea was unique and original, upon the presentations for this task, it was clear that it may have been more of a safe option as a lot of other groups had used the generational, emotional aspect as well. A challenge I  faced throughout the incubation process was focusing too heavily on the creative brief, wanting to include every aspect of what the brand wanted in their ad, for our tagline we chose to relate it to the sugar-free aspect as that was a marketing objective within the brief, however, our ads design and message didn't have any relevance to that.

"Produce a Mobile, Social Media, and Ambient ad campaign"

For this project groups of four were required to create a social media campaign, along with an ambient ad, the campaign was to be about the small NSW country town called Coonamble based on a creative brief provided.

Big Idea:

"A Fresh Start"

​

For this project my role in the group was the creative director, which included brainstorming, research, etc, I found that trying to choose the target audience for the campaign was a challenge, as a team we did a lot of research which resulted in time being lost for other equally important factors.

I believe that our big idea and the overall messages were really strong by not playing it safe, However, we should have focused more on how realistic the campaign would be.

'Produce an Integrated Marketing Communication Campaign'

This project required groups to create a campaign for a pre-paid funeral service, the campaign had to include:

  • social media advertisements

  • Print ad

  • Ambient ad

  • Radio script

  • TV ad (story board)

Big Idea:

"Relieve the burden by pre-paying your funeral"

​

For this project as there were multiple elements within the campaign, there were no direct roles for the group members, rather everyone helped with everything.

I found myself and my team excelled at the incubation stage, and although this took up a fair amount of time it paid off through our final design and advertisements for the campaign, The task was not an easy one to approach, my team and I at first really wanted to commit to humor as a strategic approach, however, we couldn’t seem to make that work and opted for emotional tactics, which I found to be more effective anyways.

Since this task involved multiple advertisements it was difficult to create them all to appear to be a part of the same campaign, Looking back we should have focused more on creating more cohesion with our campaign.
